SPARen is a privately run, non-commercial application for keeping your own SPAR vouchers in one place and showing the right one at the till. Nothing is sold or advertised here and there is no intent to profit. SPARen is not made, endorsed or supported by SPAR; the SPAR name and the roundel in SPARen's icon are SPAR's, and a voucher is only ever worth what SPAR says it is. Using SPARen requires an account, which stays fully in your control: you create it yourself, and you can delete it — along with everything in it — at any time.
Privacy Policy
1. Controller
The controller for this processing is Giner Aaron, reachable at contact@gineraaron.com.
2. What is stored
The application stores only what it needs in order to work:
- Account: your account is not held here. It belongs to Ginius Hub at hub.gineraaron.com, which is where you sign in and where your password is stored, under the same controller named above. SPARen keeps only the account number the Hub gave you, a copy of your name and the language you chose. SPARen never sees your password. The Hub's own privacy policy covers what it stores.
- Your vouchers are not stored here. They are kept only on your own device, in your browser's storage (see section 5). When you add a PDF, it is sent to the server, read in memory, and the card number, PIN, barcode and printed amount found in it are sent back to your browser; the server keeps none of it — not the file, not the numbers, not that a voucher was added — and writes none of it to a log.
Nothing is collected automatically: no location, no device sensors, no contacts, no analytics or tracking services, no advertising networks, no profiling. SPARen does not know where or what you buy.
3. SPARen and SPAR
This server never contacts SPAR, and nothing about you or your vouchers is sent to SPAR by it.
Balances are entered by you. Check at SPAR opens SPAR's own balance page in your
browser and copies the card number to your device's clipboard; the address it opens carries the card
number and PIN after a #, the part of an address a browser does not send to the server,
so that the SPARen bookmark can fill them into SPAR's form and then remove them from the address bar.
Scripts on SPAR's page can read that part of the address, and SPAR receives both numbers when you
submit its form. What happens on SPAR's page is SPAR's processing, under SPAR's own privacy
policy.
4. Access logs and IP addresses
Every request is logged on the server. Those logs contain the IP address of the device making the request, along with the time, the address requested, the HTTP method and the response status. They never contain a card number or a PIN. They exist for running the service, for finding faults and for fending off abuse. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are not joined with your account and expire with the usual system rotation.
5. Cookies and local storage
SPARen sets exactly one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in here. It is cryptographically signed, sent over HTTPS only, and expires after a year or when you log out. Signing in also sets cookies on hub.gineraaron.com, described in the Hub's own privacy policy; those are set by the Hub on its own address and are never sent to this one. Signing out — here or in any other Ginius Hub app — ends the session here as well: the Hub tells this app over the server's own internal network, passing nothing but your account number, and the cookie stops being accepted from that moment, on this device and on every other one.
Your vouchers live in your browser's storage on this device (IndexedDB): for each one, its card number, PIN and barcode, the amount printed on it, the balance you last entered and when, when you added it and, if you did, when you archived it, and which one is active. They are not encrypted there, so that the barcode can be shown at the till with no signal; anyone who can use your unlocked device and browser can see them. They are not sent to the server again, are not on your other devices, and SPARen asks the browser to keep them permanently rather than clear them when space runs short — whether it agrees is shown under This device… in the settings menu. Your device also remembers, locally, the language you chose, so the first screen appears in it before the server has answered, and the account number last signed in here, so that this account's vouchers can be opened without a connection. None of these values leave your device. So that the installed app opens quickly, the browser also keeps a local cache of the program files.
6. No third-party content in the page
The page itself loads nothing from outside servers. The typefaces are served from here and the barcode is drawn in your browser, so opening the page creates no connection to a third party and your IP address is passed to no one.
7. Purposes and legal bases
The account number, your name and your language setting are processed here, and your vouchers are read from the PDFs you send, for one purpose only: to keep your vouchers on your device and show them when you ask, which is performance of that arrangement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Keeping the vouchers in your browser is necessary for the service you asked for (§ 165 (3) TKG 2021). Log data rests on the legitimate interest in section 4.
8. Retention and deletion
The account number, name and language are kept on the server for as long as your account exists. You can delete the whole account yourself at any time: the entry in the settings menu takes you to Ginius Hub, which is where the account lives. Deleting it there irreversibly removes the account and instructs SPARen to remove what it holds for you, along with everything any other Ginius Hub app holds; there is no recovery. If SPARen cannot be reached at that moment, nothing is deleted anywhere and you are asked to try again.
Your vouchers are on your devices, where the server cannot reach them, so deleting the account does not remove them, and neither does signing out. They stay until you remove them: one at a time from the Archive tab, all at once with This device… → Delete all vouchers on this device, or by clearing this site's data in your browser. Access logs are not covered by this, as they are not tied to an account.
9. Security
The connection is encrypted with HTTPS throughout. Your password is never sent to SPARen: you type it at Ginius Hub, which protects it with scrypt, and SPARen is handed only a single-use code that it redeems once over a connection that never leaves the server. The server holds no card number, PIN or barcode, so a break-in there, a copy of the database or a backup of it has none to reveal. On your device they are protected by the browser keeping each site's storage to itself, and by the lock on your device; one account's vouchers are kept apart from another's on a shared browser, but not from a person using the same browser profile.
10. Sharing with third parties
Nothing is shared with anyone. The server is self-operated, in Austria; there are no processors, nothing is sold, and nothing is transferred anywhere.
11. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Arts. 15–21 GDPR. A message to the contact address above is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your competent data protection supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde.

2. Was gespeichert wird
Was
10. Weitergabe an Dritte
